Stowe, Vermont, is a picturesque town in the Green Mountains of Vermont. It’s a popular ski and snowboard destination, but it’s a fantastic place to visit all year. From cute towns to enjoying nature, here’s everything you need to do on your visit:

Explore Stowe, Vermont

Spend some time walking through the main street. You’ll also find some wonderful pathways like this Stowe bridge for photos. There are lots of great restaurants that are sure to catch your eye. Grab a coffee at Black Cap Coffee or something sweet at Stowe Sweets and then enjoy their patios and soak in the views. I recommend having dinner in Stowe one night and in Waterbury the next.

Explore Waterbury, Vermont

Waterbury Historic Village is full of surprises from murals, a beautiful main street, and incredible restaurants. The Reservoir is a great farm-to-table restaurant for dinner. Get a chicken sandwich and kale caesar salad.

Explore the Shops

There are lots of great shops that will catch your eye as you drive through Stowe. A few favourites include:

Head to Cold Hollow Cider Mill for an apple cider donut and apple cider. They also have a big shop full of unique items from maple sriracha to jams. This is a great spot to find gifts.

Another popular shop is the award-winning Cabot Cheese. Browse their selection of Cabot Cheese and Vermont specialty items.

Laughing Moon Chocolates is the perfect stop for your sweet tooth. Browse their selection and snap a photo with their Stowe, Vermont mural on the side of their building.

Grab a Cone at Ben and Jerry’s

This famous ice cream factory is a must when visiting Stowe, Vermont. Try one of their classic flavours, like Chocolate Fudge Brownie, or opt for something new. Grab a cone and walk around the grounds, including their ‘flavour graveyard’ of flavours that are gone. You can also do a factory tour but make sure to book in advance on their website.

Seasonal Fun

There are plenty of activities to enjoy in any season in Vermont. In the warmer months, there are plenty of amazing hikes and trails to enjoy. Some popular ones include the Stowe Recreation Path, mountain views of Stowe Pinnacle, or find a waterfall on the Moss Glen Falls trail.

In the summer and fall, spend the day swimming or paddling at the Waterbury Reservoir. We hit the water on a paddleboard. We loved taking in the mountain views as we glided through the water.

Stowe, Vermont, is the perfect destination to hit the slopes if you’re visiting in the winter.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Waterbury-Stowe. It had a great view of the mountains and was minutes from the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory, Stowe Main Street and Waterbury Historic District.

The first thing that stood out was the amazing view of the mountains. The hotel is in a great location and has walking trails you can enjoy. Get your camera ready because there’s even a covered bridge you’ll come across.

This bench is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee and a view of the mountains at the same time. It was a wonderful spot to enjoy a peaceful moment before a day full of adventures.

There is a stunning indoor pool to enjoy as well as lots of cozy spots where you can curl up with a book.
