With more than 1.1 million LGBTQ visitors annually, greater Fort Lauderdale is proudly Florida’s gay capital. In conjunction with the popular gayborhood, Wilton Manors, there are over 200 gay-owned establishments to peruse from. Here’s four ways to celebrate.

Take a Dip in Sebastian Street Beach

While Fort Lauderdale boasts miles of pristine coastline, Sebastian Street Beach is crowned “Hottest U.S. Gay Beach” by Out Traveler for good reason. Look for rainbow beach umbrellas and find it on the corner of Sebastian Street and A1A.

Do Brunch and go Shopping at Wilton Drive aka “The Drive”

There are a number of bars and restaurants to discover in this cozy 2 mile radius that makes up Wilton Drive, but if you’re up for daytime activities, there’s plenty of that, too.

Start off with brunch at the iconic Rosie’s Bar and Grill to see and be seen. With colorful hanging lanterns swaying from up above, and a robust menu, brunch is a must. Order a big girl burger, like the Anita Mojito or the Georgia Bleu. Don’t forget to pair with a fruity cocktail and bring Fido to their pet-friendly patio, too.

If you’re down for some thrifting drop into Out of the Closet. Scour the racks for discounted goods and support a good cause. 96 cents of every dollar on sales goes back to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, funding HIV care and services.

The Pride Center at Equality Park also hosts an “Everything Under the Rainbow” Flea Market. The market features over 50 vendors, live music, and more. Find vintage treasures and artisan décor while haggling for the best prices under the sun.

Make a Visit to The Nation’s Largest LGBTQ Museum

If you’re a history buff or would love to learn more about LGBTQ history, The Stonewall National Museum & Archives is known as the “LGBTQ community’s Smithsonian” and is the largest gay library and archive in the nation. Explore the 2,000-square foot gallery in Wilton Manors and learn more about LGBTQ history.

Celebrate Pride with a Concert and Festival

From February 10th 2023 – February 12th 2023, Pride of the Americas will host an epic concert and a 2-day festival with 125+ vendors, and more. Plan your trip to Fort Lauderdale ahead of time and book your stay with Best Western® Hotels & Resorts.
